Pearl Garden Cafe (Tanjung Tokong, Penang)

We planned to dine in Pearl Garden Cafe is because we also wanted to visit the Avatar Garden just behind this place.
Pearl Garden Cafe

We arrived at 8.20pm with very packed traffic jam as the road to the area is very small (only 1 way vehicle at a time), but lucky that the owner of the parking area manages the traffic well with a small fee of RM3 per parking. We did advance booking for a table & ordered salted steam crab (4 crabs) & prawn (1kg).

There are other stalls besides salted steam crabs & prawns, which sells Fried Hor Fun, fried snacks like chicken or seafood, or oyster omelette.

After waiting for around 20 minutes, these are the food that we ordered from several stalls:~ Enjoy~~

Soy Sauce Clams (only 1 flavor) - RM15
The clams is mildly spicy flavor, stir fry with soy sauce, even Jelly can eat it. By the way, it's her favorite! It cost RM 15 per plate.

Oyster Omelette - RM15
The Oyster Omelette is also mildly spicy. Jelly prefer the clams than oysters, but she still can eat it. The oysters are quite small-medium sized. This plate cost RM15.

Fried Sotong (Calamari) - RM 17
This fried sotong tasted a little hard, I m not sure it is overly fried. Jelly doesn't chew well with it, so better watch your toddlers if you feed this to them. This plate cost RM17.

Fried Calamari & Fish - RM17
This plate is totally not worth it. I don't even think it is even calamari. I m not sure what is it also. Jelly only ate the fries. This plate is RM17.

Fried Bean Sprouts
Fried Seafood Hor Fun

The same stall selling Fried Seafood Hor Fun also fried vegetables, and we ordered 2 plates of Hor Fun and 1 plate of small bean sprout. The seafood in the Horfun consist of fish meat and prawns. Bean Sprout is also one of Jelly's favorite food! Total 2 plates of Hor Fun (Sufficient for 4 adults) and 1 small fried bean sprout is RM54.

1kg of salted steam prawns

4 salted steam crabs
(Crab price is RM54 per kg)
This is the one we all craving for! Lucky that Jelly is also a seafood lover! She love both prawns and crabs! The prawns and crabs are fresh and it's all using steam method without water, but salt! so it's salty and dry, but juicy inside. the price for 4 crabs, 1kg of prawns, drinks (3cans of 100plus, 1 chrysanthemum, 1 large Calsberg) is RM155.

After eating, and have our tummy filled up, it's time to do some walking. The popular Avatar garden was just behind the cafe, you need to walk past the hawker and temple and you can see the Avatar Garden! Click here to go to Avatar Garden Post~!

Review:
Service: It's dinner time while we arrived so it's kinda packed. It took them some time to serve and drinks are being ordered is the same stall with the salted steam seafood. It is open air concept with very minimal shade and we are unable to dine if it's raining. (6/10)
Notes:
~ Baby Chair not available.
~ Parking available with a a fees of RM3, if visiting on weekend or dinner time, need to be very patient because road is very narrow which allow only 1 vehicle (direction) to move at a time.
~ Several stalls selling various food and snacks.
~ Outdoor concept, most of the dinning area no shade, if rain then there are only very few limited table with shades.
